More Police, Prosecutors, and Tougher Laws
The Province will dedicate an additional 168 police officers and 10 prosecutors as part of a comprehensive initiative to strengthen B.C.'s fight against gang and gun violence, Premier Campbell announced on February 13. The plan includes more police officers, more prosecutors, more jails and secure courts, tougher laws, cracking down on illegal guns, outlawing armoured vehicles and body armour, and a new gang hotline and rewards program.
