Re-Opening Historic Trestles
Premier Campbell praised the work of volunteers, companies, individuals and governments in successfully rebuilding the historic Myra Canyon Trestles at a celebration on June 20 in Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park. The trestles were severely damaged during the Kelowna wildfires in the summer of 2003. Of the 18 trestles that formed the popular hiking and cycling route, 12 were destroyed and the decks of two steel trestles were burned.
