Historic Step for British Columbia

Premier Gordon Campbell congratulated the Tsawwassen First Nation at a news conference on July 26 for ratifying the first modern day treaty negotiated under the British Columbia treaty process. Tsawwassen First Nation members voted 69.5 per cent in favour of the treaty that provides a cash transfer of $13.9 million and a land transfer totalling 724 hectares.
