Supporting Amateur Sports
Premier Gordon Campbell lit the torch to kick off the 2008 BC Summer Games in Kelowna on July 24, welcoming over 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials to the competition. The Premier also announced $2 million in funding from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation's SportsFunder program has gone to support amateur sports this year in B.C.
