Increasing Local Government Funding

The Province is significantly increasing grants to local governments, providing more than $12.6 million this year alone to communities in northern B.C., Premier Gordon Campbell announced on May 9. Prince George will also receive $500,000 from the B.C. Spirit Squares program to create a Veteran's Plaza Spirit Square. The square will transform the front of City Hall into an urban plaza with a First Nations Spirit Gate and upgrades to the Cenotaph.
