Support for Nanaimo
Premier Campbell presented the City of Nanaimo with a cheque for $110,000, the third and final award for its Olympic/Paralympic Live Sites project. The Premier also announced the Province will provide the city with $500,000 from the B.C. Spirit Square program to help redevelop Maffeo-Sutton Park into a venue for events and a community gathering place. The Premier also announced $19,704 in matching funding to the Nanaimo Daily News 2007 Raise-a-Reader campaign.
